Festival InformationAbout Agon Film Festival PALATOU MARIA (AGON FESTIVAL)
The International Meeting of Archaeological Film of the Mediterranean Area is taking place every two (2) years and it is organised by the non-profit association AGON, in collaboration with the greek magazine ARCHAEOLOGY AND ARTS. The first AGON Meeting took place in 1996.
Our
goal is to make a positive contribution to the preservation of our
common heritage and to the deeper understanding of those elements which
have united us since antiquity around the wonderful Mediterranean Sea.
The archaeological films are the paramount means for the dissemination
of knowledge of the ancient world to the public. The image is immediate
and speaks all languages. So AGON is declared international and its subject is Archaeology in the Mediterranean. And by the term Archaeology we mean the search even into the recent past, since there is no turning back in time.
