ACE Film Festival 2008

PRESENTED BY NEW YORK FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS

Throughout history, American film has raised the bar in a broad spectrum of elements, including technology, performance, style, innovation and experimentation. While filmmakers all across the globe continue to stun audiences with incredible cinematic masterpieces, our goal is to focus solely on American-made works. From the backyard to the backlot, this country has harvested some of the most talented visionaries and storytellers known to man. The American Cinematic Experience is a celebration of these artists of the past, present and future.

By providing an exclusive forum for domestic film and video, we magnify the focus on this country's creative voice. There is no better time than now for Americans to express themselves and communicate, through their art, on an international level. ACE Fest sets out to embrace those who share their thoughts, dreams, opinions, fears and ideas through the eye of the lens.

Now in its second year, the ACE Film Festival has caught the attention of countless filmmakers, artists, publications, companies and supporters. The annual celebration in New York City is considered to be one of the most anticipated events on the industry calendar, bringing together not only people from all over the United States, but all corners of the globe as well.

Last year’s program boasted 5 world premieres, 1 U.S. premiere, 2 east coast premieres, 7 New York premieres and was attended by moviegoers, filmmakers, press and distributors from all over the globe. Several films in the 2007 program went on to achieve success in the international festival circuit, various distribution deals and even theatrical release. It has never been easier to enter a film or video to the festival with two simple options for submission: one-click submit via withoutabox.com or traditional mail-in through NYFA.org.

Entry fees have been lowered since last year to entice even more filmmakers to contribute their work and range from $15-45, depending on the piece’s duration and postmark date.
